Industraheat were successful in being awarded the contract for the replacement of one of their old main boilers which had served them well for many years but had reached the end of its useful life.

South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust had already replaced two of their other boilers some years before and were keen to repeat the general set up as it had proved to be cost affective and reliable.  Two new MHS Alpha ON-08 cast iron sectional HE boilers were selected and were to be complete with Elcon Vectron GL 03 250 duel fuel burner units.  It had already been proved that the flexibility of having two fuels was invaluable as the heating and hot water services are required to be maintained 24 hours a day throughout the year. Duel fuel was therefore the only option that could meet this need.

One of the main challenges faced was the removal of the old cast iron boiler but once this was overcome the installation was reasonably straightforward and adaption of the existing installations including controls was achieved successfully within the programme and all targets were met.
