Case Study: Pippbrook Open Plan Office Area
Pippbrook Open Plan Office Area
Due to changes in operating procedures, this former restaurant and servery area needed to be used as an open plan office area.
Our brief was to put forward a cost effective solution bearing in mind very stringent budget constraints.
This was a difficult area to provide comfort conditions to as there are large expenses of glass, high decorative ceilings and no voids to conceal services. A system rated at nominally 28Kw heating and cooling was required.
This was provided by two separate systems each comprising a nominal 14Kw outdoor unit coupled to three wall mounted indoor units, strategically placed to distribute the air in a draught free manner throughout the area. This approach allowed for a totally uncluttered internal appearance with the minimum of outdoor plant, as everything installed was on view in a particularly attractive public building.
Both systems are inverter driven air source heat pumps providing very efficient operation throughout the year and depending on conditions, are capable of providing up to 4Kw of cooling or heating for every1Kw of electrical input.
